IBI Group has opened entries to its annual Construction Cup charity football tournament to raise money for Mates in Mind and promote positive mental health in the construction industry.

The competitive, yet friendly five-a-side event will take place at Powerleague in London’s trendy Shoreditch on 13 September 2019.

Proceeds from the tournament will go to Mates in Mind, a registered charity helping to raise awareness and improving mental health across workplaces in construction and related industries.

In celebration of the Construction Cup’s renowned team spirit, IBI Group and Mates in Mind have also launched their ‘We are #MentalHealthUnited’ campaign.

The campaign seeks to break the silence and get people talking about mental wellbeing – in our workplaces, in our communities and at home.

Katie Bryant, Event Manager, said: “Astonishing figures reveal mental health issues are impacting one in six people in the construction industry. Our campaign aims to inspire our industry to take action by giving them the support to create environments that can positively impact mental wellbeing.”

James Rudoni, Managing Director, Mates in Mind, added: “Like football, mental health takes team work and a strong network of supporters to help combat the stigma. We encourage everyone to get involved in this fantastic event, support the campaign and start the conversation.”

Global design and technology firm, IBI Group has organised the Construction Cup since 2011. During this time, it has united the construction industry in raising over £35,000 for good causes.

If you would like to enter a team, sponsor the event or become a #MentalHealthUnited supporter, visit the event website at www.constructioncup.co.uk.
